Neville Design Studio believes in a world where people and planet thrive. Together. We do this by nurturing the interconnected relationship between people and Te Taiao. We are a landscape architecture practice based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa.
Our work is guided by the knowledge that landscapes are living systems. Every project, whether a private garden, public space, rural property or community landscape, is an opportunity to restore ecological health and celebrate the unique character of place. We create environments where people can connect, gather and belong.
We believe meaningful landscapes emerge through listening. By understanding the history, ecology and aspirations of each site; we create places that feel grounded, enduring and deeply connected to the people who use them.
Our approach balances thoughtful design with practical delivery. We combine ecological thinking, cultural awareness and technical expertise to shape landscapes that are resilient, beautiful and generous over time.

Richard believes in regenerative landscape architecture that is in harmony with land and people. His passion is meaningful design that connects us with each other and our environment.
He is an award-winning landscape architect with projects published by Landscape Architecture Aotearoa, Landscape Architecture New Zealand magazine and New Zealand House & Garden magazine.
Richard has been a guest speaker at the Architecture & Design Film Festival in Auckland, the Garden Design Society of New Zealand and the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects. Following the NZILA Conference in 2022, he wrote an article about the intersection of people, plants and nature, published by LAA. Read article
In 2023 he was invited to be a guest lecturer for the BLA at Unitec in Auckland. He wrote and delivered a plants focused studio (design paper) with the aim of creating a cultural shift in the way we live with our environment.
Most recently Richard presented the keynote speech at the 2025 New Zealand Gardens Trust Conference. The talk titled ‘A Changing Cultural Aesthetic’ dove into the interconnected relationship between culture, land and gardens. Watch keynote speech

Natasha embodies a level of finesse and understanding of people and land which is rarely found. Her empathy and connection with the whenua and people sets a platform for her design thinking which nurtures openness and exploration.
Natasha is a landscape architect with over ten years of experience designing landscapes across New Zealand, Japan, China and India. Her work spans public, education, transport, residential and rural landscapes, with a passion for creating places that strengthen the relationship between people and place.
Her approach combines thoughtful design with clear technical delivery, drawing on experience working alongside multidisciplinary teams, mana whenua, clients and communities from concept through to construction. She believes the most enduring landscapes are those that respond to the character of a site while enriching the everyday experiences of the people who use them.
Natasha is an active contributor to the wider design and creative community. She has presented at the Garden Design Society of New Zealand events and on Radio New Zealand, and has served on the national committee of the Garden Design Society as well as the executive committee of Prayas Theatre Company. Her landscape work has been featured through collaborations with leading New Zealand design practices in publications including Landscape Architecture Aotearoa, New Zealand House & Garden, and Noel Kingsbury's Wild, while her broader creative practice includes work in theatre, set design and visual storytelling.
Her work has received international recognition, including a Gold Award at the Shenzhen Flower Show in China 2022, an installation at the Japan Gardening World Cup 2015, and an Outstanding Leadership Award from the Indian Institute of Architects 2024.
